Kho Liang Ie (1927–1975) is considered a key figure in Dutch design: a functionalist with a poetic touch and an exceptional sensitivity for material. His furniture for Artifort and his interior design for Schiphol are internationally renowned, but due to his premature death his name is less established. Featuring in-depth research, new insights, and the most comprehensive—and colorful—visual material ever published, this book provides an overview that reveals the scope of Kho’s practice like never before: from experimental exhibition concepts and innovative interiors to graphic design and iconic furniture.
