Artist Tja Ling Hu will present the publication Before I Was Born at the Made in China Festival in Ghent on March 19th. In Before I Was Born, Tja Ling illustrates the story of her family's journey from China to the Netherlands in 14 interconnected illustrations. When fully opened, the book measures almost 5 meters. This unique execution compliments the story perfectly and immerses the reader in the journey of Tja Ling's family.

The Made in China Festival aims to bring Chinese contemporary culture closer to the people of Ghent. The artists brought together for this event all have a story to share about their Chinese roots. They will share this with the audience through music, performances and visual art.
