Marie Reintjes 'Temporary Terrain' Opening exhibition & book launch 16 January
Gallery Vriend van Bavink invites you to the opening of Temporary Terrain, a solo exhibition by Marie Reintjes (1990), chosen by the Cultural Fund as the winner of the Sieger White Award on 16 January, 4PM.
The opening also marks the launch of her book of the same name, Temporary Terrain with an essay by Inge Pollet and designed by Arthur Roeloffzen. The book was made possible by the Sieger White Award and published by Jap Sam Publishers.

Paper trail - domestic altar (2025)
Reintjes draws on a personal family archive: thirty years of diaries, photographs and tangible memories. By borrowing, distorting and rearranging elements, she brings together different layers of time in a single image. Her paintings, clearly composed, rhythmic and refined, show how light, structure and omission are just as decisive as what she depicts.
For “Temporary Terrain”, Reintjes brings together new work with earlier paintings, revealing her development: from quiet, sparse landscapes to recent collage-like compositions in which memories and found images intertwine.
Marie Reintjes has exhibited at various locations in the Netherlands; her work can be found in private and institutional collections. She lives and works in Arnhem and is a previous winner of the Vlissingen Art Prize.
We look forward to welcoming you to the gallery on 16 January at 4PM
