During the opening ceremony of the Dutch Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, the first copy of The Netherlands at the Venice Biennale, 1895–2025: 130 Years of Visual Arts on an International Stage was presented to His Majesty King Willem-Alexander and Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands.

Book launch 'The Fortress' accompanying the Dutch entry for the 61st edition of La Biennale di Venezia

For the 61st International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, artist Dries Verhoeven and curator Rieke Vos present a performance and architectural installation titled The Fortress. The project marks a historic first: it is the first time the Netherlands is represented at the Biennale Arte with a performance, and the first time the Dutch Pavilion itself becomes an integral part of the artwork. Edited by Milo Vermeire The upcoming edition of La Biennale di Venezia is from 9 May to 22 November 2026.

This limited edition publication is part of The weather has been cancelled (TWHBC), an artwork in the form of an interactive-fiction videogame. In the game environment, the player wakes up and discovers that the weather has been cancelled. Then the quest is revealed: The world needs you. You have to find out who cancelled the weather, and get it back! If you fail to restore the weather by midnight, all life on Earth will begin to perish. Good luck.

The opening also marks the launch of her book of the same name, Temporary Terrain with an essay by Inge Pollet and designed by Arthur Roeloffzen. The book was made possible by the Sieger White Award and published by Jap Sam Publishers.

on 7 November the exhibition of The Best Dutch Books Designs 2024 opened at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. We are proud to be included in the selection with two publications: Felwa by Arja Hop and Peter Svenson, chosen by the professional jury as well as by the student jury, and As far as I know, by Caja Boogers, chosen by the professional jury. Both are designed by Edwin van Gelder, Mainstudio. The exhibition runs through 4 January 2026, so pay a visit to experience all of the beautiful publications in real life!
