As we speak, the jury of the Best Dutch Book Designs 2022 is already busy selecting this years 33 publications. Our very own Eleonoor Jap Sam, founder and publisher of Jap Sam Books is part of the 2022 professional jury! The nominations will be revealed soon, but before that happens we would like to share last years catalogues and jury report including two publications by Jap Sam Books: Rollable Ramblings. Koen Taselaar (professional and student jury) and Repairing Earthquake Project 2011-2021 (student jury).

We are excited to already announce the first book events and launches of the new year! Starting off with a book presentation of RAABJERG by Rune Peitersen at Club Solo, followed by a book presentation of The Civic Empowerment Toolbox by Ben Schouten at Pakhuis de Zwijger. After this the launch of two special limited edition artist books will take place, Mother's Milk by Marie Ilse Bourlanges and Displace by Elena Khurtova at Looiersgracht 60.

As Above, So Below documents twenty-one works made by Amsterdam-based artist, Ruchama Noorda over a twenty-year period. With O-Town House serving as Noorda's temporary time-space PORTAL (an installation adapted especially for the rooms at O-Town House), Noorda and California-based art and cultural critic Dick Hebdige will talk about the publication and the collaborative process that lay behind it.
