With the new year now unfolding, team Jap Sam Books would like to wish you a bright and inspiring 2026.

This year, a whole series of new books will be published. We look forward to meeting you at book presentations and book fairs in the Netherlands and abroad.

We start with the launch of Temporary Terrain. Marie Reintjes, followed by two book presentations of As One. Lex ter Braak, and lastly the closing event of Activating Common Ground, highlighting the publication Re-Thinking Re-Use, published by Jap Sam Books.

The Atlas of Textscapes offers an overview of text drawings from a forty-year period by Tanja Smit, created directly on magazine articles and newspaper pages. The result is a collection of surprising patterns and a broad investigation into layout, words, language, and content. A critical investigation that is simultaneously an ode to language, slowness and the rapidly disappearing printed matter from our society.

Now available: Fragments of Repair, the fourth publication in BAK's publishing series BASICS which revisits fundamental questions and urgencies of our time - the "basics" - and seeks to develop afresh the building block of lexicons, tactics, scenarios, and relations that enable action in contemporary conditions.

On the first of April the soft launch of Unruly Kinships took place at Kunstlerhaus buchenhausen in Austria! Now available through our webshop.
