Book launch 'The Fortress' accompanying the Dutch entry for the 61st edition of La Biennale di Venezia

For the 61st International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, artist Dries Verhoeven and curator Rieke Vos present a performance and architectural installation titled The Fortress. The project marks a historic first: it is the first time the Netherlands is represented at the Biennale Arte with a performance, and the first time the Dutch Pavilion itself becomes an integral part of the artwork. Marcel Pinas exhibition Club Solo until May 22nd

Marcel Pinas (Suriname 1971) transformed Club Solo into a collective work studio where the artist will build an interactive installation together with those who are interested. His earlier installation Kibii Wi Koni (Protect our knowledge) consists of several thousand bottles wrapped with pangi fabric. At Club Solo, this work will be dismantled: participants will rearrange the pieces of pangi fabric into a new work title Goontapu.

Alexis Blake winner of Prix de Rome Visual Arts 2021

On Tuesday November 30th Alexis Blake received the Prix de Rome Visual Arts 2021 from demissionary Minister van Engelshoven of Education, Culture and Science. Blake received this award for her performance Rock to jolt [ ] stagger to ash. The award comes with a 40.000 euro cash prize and a work period at an artist at residency of choice.
