The new monograph Hannah van Bart was officially presented during the opening of the solo exhibition at Landhuis Oud Amelisweerd by artist Hannah van Bart on March 31st. The exhibition is still on view until August 20th and is absolutely a must-see! March 13th-17th, a week full of book fairs: Jap Sam Books will attend WIELS Art Book Fair Brussels (B), with a reading video performance by Marie Ilse Bourlanges (Mother's Milk), a reading video by Elena Khurtova (Displace), Jesse Presse will represent us at the pop-up book market at the Book Week at Volkshotel in Amsterdam, and you can find a selection of our publications at AnArchi Book Market in Eindhoven!

We are back! After a great first month of 2023 we would like to share some of our plans for this year. There are already some great books on their way with lots more to come. In this post you can find a sneak peek of what is coming.

The past month we celebrated the launch of two special limited edition artist books, Displace and Mother's Milk. We also had two great book events of the earlier launched publications The Civic Empowerment Toolbox and RAABJERG. Rune Peitersen. In this post we look back on these events through images.

As we speak, the jury of the Best Dutch Book Designs 2022 is already busy selecting this years 33 publications. Our very own Eleonoor Jap Sam, founder and publisher of Jap Sam Books is part of the 2022 professional jury! The nominations will be revealed soon, but before that happens we would like to share last years catalogues and jury report including two publications by Jap Sam Books: Rollable Ramblings. Koen Taselaar (professional and student jury) and Repairing Earthquake Project 2011-2021 (student jury).

As part of the Archive Event VII: Honeycombing (a dual presentation from artists Elena Khurtova and Marie Ilse Bourlanges) the launch of the limited edition artist book Displace by artist Elena Khurtova will take place on Saturday January 21st. Displace explores the process of entering into a dialogue with soil as a living entity and offers an intimate insight into Elena Khurtova’s research, process, and personal connection with displaced soils.
